TS BABAH uses fossil ivories and water buffalo bone to produce our carvings and jewelry.

Fossil Walrus Tusk: This is ancient walrus tusk from St Lawrence Island, Alaska. The pieces of tusk and teeth are dug from the ground by Native American Yupik peoples on their lands during the artic summer. This material is 1000-2000 years old.

Woolly Mammoth Tusk: This material is extremely old, 10,000 to 40,000 years old. It is found by gold miners in Alaska and North West Canada along the Yukon River drainage.

These ancient materials have a range of colors that result from mineral absorption during the centuries they have been buried.

Water Buffalo Bone: This bone comes from Indonesia and is not an old medium. The water buffalo is used in the Indonesian islands as a draft animal and food source. This bone is white in color.
